Projects

Reinforcement Learning for Adaptase Tail Trimming Medford, MA
Member of 3-person research team / Accelerator Fellow, Tufts Data Science Club March 2026 – Present
  • Apply reinforcement learning methods to trim synthetic Adaptase tails from single-stranded whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (ssWGBS) reads, with the goal of improving DNA sequencing data quality
  • Developed probabilistic models of Adaptase tail generation, including a negative binomial model for synthetic tail lengths informed by published research and validated against NIH sequencing datasets
  • Implemented a Python simulator that generates realistic synthetic sequencing reads for training RL agents
  • Designed the action space and reward function for an RL agent that trims Adaptase tails from ssWGBS reads
